Spike is reportedly bringing "Mookie" back, and working on a remake of "Oldboy."
Spike Lee is on a roll this summer. Just a day after reports that he’ll be directing the American remake of Chan-Wook Park’s 2003 action thriller “Oldboy,” now comes word that he’s also working on a film titled “Red Hook Summer.”
Spike is also reportedly reprising his role as “Mookie” from “Do The Right Thing” for “Red Hook Summer,” while “Oldboy” tells the story of a South-Korean man who is kidnapped and held captive for 15 years.
“On the way to the set of THE NEW SPIKE LEE JOINT. Today is 1st Day of Shooting,” tweeted the Oscar-nominated director. Details on the plot have been kept hush-hush. We have to admit, a Spike Lee Joint is long overdue.
