Smokey Robinson and his ex-wife Claudette Robinson are in the midst of a dispute over Smokey’s hit songs. After Smokey filed to reclaim the rights to his works under the 1976 Copyright Act, Claudette Robinson filed a claim stating that she is entitled to 50 percent of his compositions. A judge has given Smokey the right to administer and exploit his songs, however he has agreed not to “maliciously or willfully take any action with a view of damaging” his ex-wife’s interests. Rihanna has reportedly left Def Jam to sign with long time affiliate Roc Nation under Jay Z. Her Roc Nation website profile indicates that she is now not only managed by the label, but officially signed as an artist. [Complex]
