See what we’re chatting about over hot cocoa:

Spike Lee is gearing up for a small screen reboot of his 1985 cult classic She’s Gotta Have It to air on Showtime. Lee will write and direct the half-hour series adaptation, examining race, gender, sexuality, relationships and gentrification in Brooklyn. [Deadline]

Netflix’s original series Orange Is The New Black has been picked up for a third season a month prior to the release of the hit series’ second season. The second season of the comedy, starring Laverne Cox, Danielle Brooks, Smaira Wiley and Lorraine Toussaint, is set for June 6. [HollywoodReporter]

Smokey Robinson and his ex-wife Claudette Robinson are in the midst of a dispute over Smokey’s hit songs. After Smokey filed to reclaim the rights to his works under the 1976 Copyright Act, Claudette Robinson filed a claim stating that she is entitled to 50 percent of his compositions. A judge has given Smokey the right to administer and exploit his songs, however he has agreed not to “maliciously or willfully take any action with a view of damaging” his ex-wife’s interests. [HollywoodReporter]

Rihanna has reportedly left Def Jam to sign with long time affiliate Roc Nation under Jay Z. Her Roc Nation website profile indicates that she is now not only managed by the label, but officially signed as an artist. [Complex]

Damon Wayans Jr. has been added on for a reccurring role on the Fox sitcom New Girl. Wayans Jr. has made several appearances in the third season and is now officially a cast member for the upcoming season. [HollywoodReporter]

Maya Rudoph’s new variety show is coming to NBC on May 19. Here’s a sneak peek:
