Spelman College is investigating an allegation that surfaced on Twitter that accounts the rape of a student at the Atlanta women’s college by four students from Morehouse, reports AJC.

Oklahoma Cop Charged with Raping, Abusing 6 Black Women

In a series of tweets, the anonymous young woman, @RapedatSpelman, recounts and details her sexual assault and the response she allegedly received from school officials when she reported the assault.

I went to a party with my friends there were alot of people there and it was really fun so we decided to drink with the upperclassmen.

I was drunk but that doesn't mean I forgot about what happened. I went to the bathroom upstairs to throw up and when I opened the door I was

drinking under age. The Dean also said that Spelman & Morehouse are brother & sister so I should give them a pass. I never felt so worthless

in my life. I got so depressed that I wanted to take my own life and I started to self-harm. I don't want to be at a school that does not

Spelman has taught me to be a free thinking woman and also to be a woman who has to keep her mouths closed to protect her "brothers".

You can NEVER say Morehouse has their sisters back if they are just going to force her on it.

“Our hearts go out to this student and I want to personally offer her our full support and assistance,” Spelman President Dr. Mary Schmidt Campbell said in a statement provided to AJC.

“We are a family at Spelman and we will not tolerate any episode of sexual violence,” she wrote. “No student should ever have to suffer and endure the experience she has recounted on social media. Spelman is conducting a full and thorough review of these events.”

As of yet, there are no details as to whether the alleged victim had filed a police report or other complaint, or as to when the alleged assault took place.

In 24 hours the tweets have led to an outpouring of support from Spelman students and alumni as well as protest.

Monday’s allegations follow demands late last year from Spelman, Morehouse and Clark Atlanta students that school administrators do more to ensue students’ safety, AJC reports. Students sent administrators at the colleges a list of 13 demands for the schools to do more to “protect, serve and work for and with all students to keep us safe.”

Their demands included two or more campus convocations and forums dedicated to the issues of consent, sexual violence, sexual relationships and health relationships. They also demand the “immediate cessation of harmful, victim-blaming information” from all three campus police departments.

We’ll share more on this troubling story as updates become available.
