'Sparkle' Remake Gets Official Release Date

The long-awaited release date for the remake of “Sparkle” has finally been revealed. Sony Pictures has announced that the film will hit theaters on August 10, 2012 reports IndieWire.

The flick boasts an all-star cast, which includes Whitney Houston, Jordin Sparks, Tika Sumpter, Mike Epps, Cee Lo Green and Derek Luke. Grammy-winning singer R. Kelly is also on board to create original music for the movie.

Filming for the movie began in October and principal photography has reportedly already wrapped which means that a sneak peak for the film could be on its way!
