The testimony from James Comey before the Senate Intelligence Committee on Thursday sent Twitter into a whirlwind.

The former FBI Director, who was fired on May 9, testified about his detailed his conversations with President Donald Trump, whether or not he was instructed to end the Michael Flynn investigation and about his termination.

During the hearing, Comey told members, “I was fired in some way to change the way the Russia investigation is conducted.”

While the 45th President has threatened to leak tapes of their conversation to the press, Comey told members on Capitol Hill that he wasn’t sure if tapes of his conversation with President Trump exist, but “Lordy, I hope there are tapes.”

The hearing, which was live streamed across various social media platforms, had a lot of people talking. Specifically on Twitter. Using the hashtags, #ComeyHearings and #ComeyDay, people shared their thoughts on his commentary but didn’t leave behind the memes and GIFs.

While the president did not immediately share his thoughts on Comey’s testimony, a Politico report said that White House officials were trying to keep him “busy with meetings” in hopes that he won’t have an impromptu reaction to the hearing.
