Amid the outpouring of sorrow from black celebrities over the police killings of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile, Snoop Dogg and The Game moved outside social media Friday by calling on men in the Los Angeles area to join them in a peaceful march towards LAPD headquarters.

“We will stand as we are, UNIFIED. I’m calling ALL GANGS, ALL RACES, ALL GROWN MEN affiliated or not & we will stand UNIFIED,” The Game said on Instagram in his call to action.

Operation H.U.N.T Meet NOW at Joe's auto park parking 1221 west 3rd street Los Angeles California 90017 Calling: ALL AFRICAN AMERICAN MEN, MEXICAN AMERICAN MEN & any other RACE of REAL MEN with heart to stand with us today & walk peacefully to the LAPD headquarters. About 50 men showed up in the morning and marched towards LAPD headquarters, where a recruit graduation happened to have been taking place. Snoop Dogg’s advice to the new officers was that “respect is key” when dealing with their communities.

“Think about the person you’re pulling over and their family. Because that way, you’ll have more of a consideration of life and de-escalate as opposed to escalate,” he said.

Both rappers then joined L.A. Mayor Eric Garcetti and Police Chief Charlie Beck for an impromptu 45-minute private meeting, reports the LA Times.
