Sly Stone is homeless but happy, from what’s reported about the funk legend’s current living situation.
According to a New York Post article, he used to live in a sprawling, four-bedroom mansion in Beverly Hills, but now resides in a white van in Los Angeles.
“I like a small camper,” he says. “I just do not want to return to a fixed home. I cannot stand being in one place. I must keep moving,” he admits. Fortunately, his van is parked outside a nice couple’s home. They make sure the funk legend eats and showers daily.
Over the past 20 years, he’s been hard to track down — becoming mysterious in multiple ways. On the flip side, his mental health may be a bit unstable. He maintains that the FBI is looking for him and that his enemies have hired a hit man to take him out.
Regardless of what you make of Sly’s living situation, he’s quite happy and is still producing music and wants to return to the stage someday.
