Lung cancer has been determined as the cause of death for actor Sherman Hemsley.

According to the postmortem report obtained by TMZ, Hemsley suffered from “superior vena cava syndrome.” An El Paso, Texas medical examiner described the condition as a cancerous mass on his lung.

It has not be determined if Hemsley was a smoker, but the report says he was advised to get chemo and radiation therapy.

The actor, most famous for his role as George Jefferson on The Jeffersons, was found dead on July 24 in his Texas home. He was 74-years-old.
