After receiving countless letters from young girls seeking guidance on how to be like their beloved stars, “Access Hollywood” cohost Shaun Robison took action. The veteran entertainment reporter tapped into her network of celeb pals and asked them to share their advice and wisdom for her new self-help tome, “Exactly As I Am: Celebrated Women Share Candid Advice With Today’s Girls on What It Takes to Believe in Yourself” (Ballantine Books), which hits book shelves on March 31. Hollywood’s elite such as Queen Latifah and “Ugly Betty” star Vanessa Williams, as well as music luminaries like Alicia Keys and Jennifer Hudson share their personal experiences in hopes of inspiring young women to maintain a positive self-image. “We need more variety in how we depict beauty and define intelligence—there’s so much more than what is often featured,” says Keys.—PS
