Serena Williams defeats Garbiñe Muguruza at Wimbledon, making her a 21st grand slam title winner.
In a 6-4, 6-4 lead, Serena Williams defeated Garbiñe Muguruza in the Wimbledon finals, winning the 21st major title in her career and her sixth Wimbledon championship.
“It feels so good, it’s been a little while,” she said, according to The Huffington Post.
She previously won the title at the French, Australia and U.S Open. For the upcoming U.S Open, the tennis champion will be going for all four majors, an accomplishment that hasn’t been achieved since Steffi Graf in 1988.
Williams walked away from the match balancing her hard-earned gold trophy on her head, hands still high in the air in celebration. Congratulations Serena! Can’t wait to see you at the U.S Open!
