Segregation on the Rise in U.S. Schools

A report issued by the Civil Rights Project at the University of California found that Black and Latino students are just as segregated in American schools than any time since the Civil Rights Movement, according to Reuters. The project attributes part of the reason to demographics, a rise in residential segregation, and the fact that Black and Latino students are now in schools that have nearly 60 percent of students from families living below the poverty line.—WLW
