Geneva Reed-Veal received a warm welcome into Sigma Gamma Rho and shared her feelings about becoming a member of her daughter’s sorority.
“I am honored to be a part of the sisterhood, I can now finish out Sandy’s legacy. She loved the kids and education and now I can be an extended arm of that,” she stated about becoming a member.”

The sorority shared the moment on Instagram, stating:
“We welcome our newest members, Sorors Geneva Reed-Veal and Hannah Adair Bonner! Soror Reed-Veal is an activist, minister and mother of our late Soror Sandra Bland. Rev. Adair Bonner is an activist, author and speaker. #SGRho #SigmaGammaRho”
