Amy’s family decided not to hold a public funeral service or viewing, but all were welcome to attend the memorial service that was held at St. Paul UAME Church in her hometown of Wilmington, DE last Sunday. Hundreds reportedly came out to pay their final respects. 

Amy died on April 21 after being involved in a fight at Howard High School of Technology with another student that soon turned into a group attack. Following the scuffle, Amy ultimately succumb to her injuries and died.

Although police chief Bobby Cummings was hopeful that the department would be able to bring “closure” to the unanswered questions surrounding Amy’s death last week, Wilmington police told the media on Friday that the investigation would take time and also emphasized that they wouldn’t rush to complete it, according to ABC 7 News reports.
