Call pop princess Rihanna a slave to fashion if you want, but we hope that her head-turning, red-carpet appearance in a Dolce Gabanna tuxedo pants suit at the Costume Institute’s annual gala at the Metropolitian Museum of Art (MET) serves as a positive indication to her spiritual and mental freedom from all that she’s endured this past three months.
Despite rumors that the Barbadian beauty’s international concert was canceled, a source close to her asks emphatically, “How can a concert that never existed be canceled?” According to the source, the rumors of a “comeback concert” in Dubai began swelling last month from a blogger who “ironically” was the same one to announce its sudden cancellation.
“It’s ridiculous because all the things that have been reported in the press have not come from her label or outside handlers, but from people who claim to have the inside scoop. When her team is ready to make official announcements about her whereabouts or progress they will, until then everything being reported is hearsay.”
Apparently Rihanna’s MET entrance was a surprise for even some on her team who weren’t certain that she’d attend and mingle with the industry’s glitterati considering the media swarm surrounding her alleged attack from estranged beau Chris Brown on Feb. 8.
“Right now, people need to just accept last night for what it is—Rihanna looked amazing and we were happy to see her out,” says the source. “Everything will be revealed in its own time and not a minute before.”—KNB
