Once again, Oprah Winfrey is a the top. She’s number one on the first-ever Forbes List of Wealthiest Black Americans, according to Forbes.com. No longer just a talk-show host, Winfrey is a branding machine which includes “The Oprah Winfrey Show,” spin-off shows with Dr. Phil and Rachel Ray, her Harpo Productions and her satellite radio channel. It’s said that she earns $200 million a year with a net worth of $2.7 billion. Also on the list are golf pro Tiger Woods at $600 million, BET founder Bob Johnson who ranks third at $550 million (his ex-wife Sheila Johnson ranks seventh at $400 million) basketball greats Michael Jordan ($525 million) and Earvin “Magic” Johnson, Jr. ($500 million) all round out the top five.—WLW
