The disturbing video footage that was at the center of the highly-publicized domestic violence case against former NFL star Ray McDonald has been released.

McDonald and the mother of his child apparently became engaged in a tense confrontation after he arrived home one night in May of 2015 and it eventually led to the woman being cornered by McDonald in their home as she held their 2-month-old child in her arms. In the clip, which was released earlier today by TMZ, both the woman and McDonald’s driver can be heard pleading with him to allow her to go to her room and retrieve her things so someone can come and pick her up. Despite consistent coaxing from his driver, McDonald continues to assert that neither of the two “know him” in a threatening tone, as his child’s mother repeatedly asks him what he’s intending to do by keeping her trapped in the corner with their young child.

Watch the video clip in full below.

The footage cuts out just as he begins to charge towards the woman in a frenzy and she’s heard screaming frantically, while running through the house in an attempt to escape.

McDonald faced charges including federal false imprisonment and domestic violence stemming from the incident shown in the video, but the charges were later dropped after a grand jury decided against indicating him. Now that the footage has been shared with the public, many are wondering why he was allowed to go free.
