Residents in Alabama’s mostly African-American Perry County will be sleeping in on the second Monday in November next year. The county has officially approved the date as Barack Obama Day, a holiday in celebration of the forty-fourth President’s historic victory. County offices will be closed and government workers will receive it as a paid day off.
