The POTUS was spotted on a shopping run with daughters Malia and Sasha at Kramerbooks & Afterwards Café, a local Washington, D.C. bookstore yesterday during “Small Business Saturday.”

“This is ‘Small Business Saturday,’ so we’re out here supporting small business,” he said, according to The Hill.

“Small Business Saturday” is held each year on Thanksgiving weekend to help local entrepreneurs cash in from eager holiday shoppers during the busiest retail season of the year. American Express created the campaign in 2010 as a counterpart to “Black Friday” and “Cyber Monday.”

The White House released a list of the First Family’s book purchases which included “The Invention of Hugo Cabret,” ”Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Cabin Fever” and “Descent into Chaos: The U.S. and the Disaster in Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Central Asia.”

Did you support local shops in your community on “Small Business Saturday?”
