In his first network interview since the Ferguson grand jury announcement, President Obama will sit down with BET to discuss the state of the nation during this time of civic unrest.
A portion of the interview will air tonight at 5 p.m. ET during 106 & Park, and the remainder will be shown immediately afterward during BET News Presents: A Conversation with President Barack Obama, according to BET.
During the conversation, President Obama will discuss how he plans to proceed with grand jury investigations as well as how the country can remain unified during these tense months.
“This isn’t going to be solved overnight,” he said in a preview of the interview that was released yesterday. “When you’re dealing wiht something as deeply rooted as racism or bias in any society, you’ve got to have vigilance, but you’ve got to recognize that it’s going to take some time, and you just have to be steady so that you don’t give up when we don’t get all the way there.”
