On Thursday, President Barack Obama addressed mourners during an interfaith service at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross in Boston.

Obama began his speech referring to Hebrew 12:1. “Scripture tell us to run with endurance the race that is set before us,” said Obama. “But we also come to together today to reclaim that state of grace to reaffirm that the spirit of this city is undaunted and the spirit of this country shall remain undimmed.”

During the president’s emotional speech, he touched on each of the three victims of the bombings as well as spoke about the 170 plus people injured—assuring them all that Boston is with them during their dark days. “Our prayers are with the injured, so many wounded, some gravely,” he said. “From their beds, some are surely watching us gather here today. And if you are, know this: As you begin this long journey of recovery, you city is with you. Your commonwealth is with you. Your country is with you. We will all be with you as you learn to stand and walk and, yes, run again. Of that, I have no doubt, you will run again.”

During the course of his speech, Obama expressed his love for this city. It’s a place he holds fond memories of as a student. As the president pointed out, it’s a city most Americans, including First Lady Michelle Obama, hold dear connections to. “Like you, Michelle and I have walked these streets,” said Obama. “Like you, we know these neighborhoods. And like you, in this moment of grief, we join you in saying: Boston, you’re my home.”

The Commander-in-Chief concluded his speech with the same words of hope and inspiration he began with. He also reminded mourners there will be another day. “Scripture tells us to run with endurance the race that is set before us,” said Obama. “As we do, may God hold close those who’ve been taken from us too soon, may He comfort their families, and may He continue to watch over these United States of America.”

So far, two potential suspects have been identified in connection with the bombings. However, no arrests have been made. According to ABC, the FBI is combing through cell phone records to help identify the men.
