From chatting with Justin Trudeau over beer and seafood to dining with Bono at one of New York City’s hottest Italian spots, it’s clear that Barack Obama’s post-presidency life has been full of incredible meals.

Over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, the 44th president continued on this eating streak while in Oahu, visiting Mitch’s Sushi on Sunday evening.

Obama even got behind the sushi bar, with the restaurant posting a photo to their Facebook page as one of their staffers took a selfie with him. “Our newest sushi chef!,” they captioned. “After 8 years in office he’s up to a new challenge.”

Obama has a known affinity for Japanese cuisine, visiting the famed sushi establishment Sukiyabashi Jiro (featured in the 2011 documentary Jiro Dreams of Sushi) while in Tokyo in 2014. He also dined at a different Oahu hot spot, Noi Thai Cuisine, in March. “It was an honor to welcome former President Barack Obama in Noi Thai Cuisine Hawaii,” the eatery posted on Facebook afterwards. “He was as warm and friendly as anyone you could meet!!”

In addition to his sushi dinner, Obama rounded out the holiday weekend with a round of golf at Mid-Pacific Country Club.

Since leaving office in January of 2017, Obama has been traveling the world from Italy to Indonesia, enjoying some well-deserved time off—while still shaking hands with world leaders, of course.
