While President Barack Obama is no Michelle when it comes to toe-curling convention speeches, the leader of the Free World presented a quote-worthy speech during day three of the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia. Opening with memories of his daughters growing up in the White House and his wife’s impeccable ability to be absolutely adored by her own country, President Obama commented on an array of topics from terrorism and police brutality to healthcare and marriage equality. And yes, even Donald Trump. Then, somewhere between Democratic and Republican differences and Hillary’s ability to “break down barriers and fly through glass ceilings,” POTUS jokingly admitted “it’s fair to say this is not your typical election.” He even went on to say, “People outside of the United States don’t understand what’s going on in this election.” Full of classic one-liners and direct punches, take a look at President Obama’s top 5 quotes of the night and Twitter’s enthusiastic reactions. And remember, “Democracy doesn’t work if we constantly demonize each other.” Michelle Obama Ignites DNC with Powerful Speech! 1. “And then there’s Donald. Don’t boo, vote!”
