As President Barack Obama enters the final days of his last term, a recent CNN/ORC poll reveals he will depart with his highest approval rating since 2009, landing him near the top of the list when it comes to presidential approval ratings.
With every 6 in 10 people approving of Obama’s job performance, he has now beat his approval rating from his first year in office. The statistics show he has only been outranked by two other recent presidents: Bill Clinton’s 66 percent in January 2001 and Ronald Reagan’s 64 percent in January 1989.

Approximately two-thirds of Americans say Obama’s presidency was a success, including about nearly half who believe it was because of his personal strengths amid various circumstances.
Among his gleaming reviews, one-quarter of Americans say Obama is one of the nation’s greatest presidents, which drastically outperforms those who believed that about other recent presidents as their terms ended (11 percent described Reagan that way, 10 percent Clinton, and 5 percent or fewer said so about either President Bush).
