According to CNN, the alarming tweets from Trump came on the heels of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s comments about Russia needing to “enhance the combat capability of strategic nuclear forces, primarily by strengthening missile complexes that will be guaranteed to penetrate existing and future missile defense systems.”

The cryptic words from both men have led some to believe that a nuclear arms race between the U.S. and Russia could be on the horizon.
