It took a year, but five Birmingham, Alabama police officers are now off the job after they were caught beating an unconscious Anthony Warren on January 23, 2008, according to the Associated Press. The assault was recorded on a patrol car videotape and showed the officers beating Warren on the side of the road after his van tipped over during a police chase. Warren was thrown from the van and the officers beat him with their fists, feet and a billy club. The officers have never been identified. Warren was held under $1 million bond after the chase, pleaded guilty in March 2009 to first-degree assault and was sentenced to 20 years in prison.-WLW
