Pharrell Williams Tapped as Music Consultant for Academy Awards

Congrats are in order for singer-producer Pharrell Williams who has been tapped to serve as a musical consultant for the 2012 Academy Awards!

The role is a first for Pharrell, who will work alongside Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer according to the Hollywood Reporter. While little is known of his exact responsibilities, it’s exciting to know the hip-hop impresario will have a role in putting together Hollywood’s biggest night on February 26, 2012.

The Grammy-winning producer composed the score for the 2010 animated movie “Despicable Me” and his songs have appeared in such films as “Fast & Furious,” “The Brave One,” “Knocked Up” and “Mean Girls.”
