Being a vegetarian has its perks for sure! Two of the music industry’s most notable health gurus will forever be immortalized in PETA’s new “Vegetarian Icons” U.S. Postal Service PhotoStamp™ collection. Both Russell Simmons and Leona Lewis will be part of the collection.

According to a press release, “The collector’s sheet honors some of the world’s most dynamic people from throughout history who went vegetarian out of concern for animals, their health, or the environment.”

Russell Simmons is serious about not eating meat. For him it’s more than a choice to live healthy, it’s about not condemning the violence animals suffer. “The more I learned about factory farming… the more I realized that I could not, in good conscience, be a contributor to such violence,” he says.

Leona Lewis, a vegan, was voted PETA’s 2008 Sexiest Vegetarian and follows a strict lifestyle. She says, “I am a vegetarian so I don’t have clothes, shoes, or bags made from leather or suede or any animal products. I’m on a mission.”

Would you be bold enough to forgo meat for a few weeks?
