Pastor Jamal Bryant Says He’s Dating Tweet, Introduces Her As His ‘Last Lady’

Singer Tweet has found love…and it’s in the church.

It appears that the R&B artist has been in a relationship with Pastor Jamal Bryant of Baltimore-based mega church Empowerment Temple AME Church. And her appearance in a recent episode of the “Preachers” talk show, in which Bryant is a host, indicates they are ready to make their love public. We’ve grown into an incredible friendship,” said Bryant in the couple’s first interview together. “I call her my last lady.” Pastor Bryant was formerly married to Real Housewives of Potomac star Gizelle Bryant, but their marriage ended because of Bryant’s infidelity.

“A year ago I was walking through Times Square going to an Oprah Winfrey movie premiere and I bumped into R&B Singer Tweet, who is my absolute favorite female singer in the world,” said Pastro Bryant. “And, I pulled an Orrick move and asked for a picture. We have grown into an incredible friendship; I call her my “Last Lady.”

In the Preachers segment Tweet admitted that the hardest part about dating him was “the other women” and how others judged her.

In May, Essence.com contributing writer Demetria Lucas D’Oyley wrote about new allegations against Pastor Bryant where an LA-based masseuse accused the minister of fathering her 10-month-old son, and failing to financially support the child.

“Reactions to the latest allegations about Bryant, who ran for a congressional seat in September, but withdrew after eight days, have been mixed. There’s the camp who finds the allegations hardly scandalous. Unlike the time Bryant admitted to cheating on his then-wife, Giselle Bryant of Bravo TV’s “Real Housewives of Potomac”, he is not currently married. He is a single man who allegedly had sex that resulted in a child. This is hardly a unique occurrence.”

“Then there are those, who say Bryant has gone too far. He is a man, yes, but also a minister, and should be held to a higher standard,” wrote D’Oyley.

“This camp would say that Bryant’s repeated lack of sexual self-control distracts from his ministry. They say it’s time for Bryant to step down from the pulpit.”
