Oprah might be about to do for the film industry what she’s done for publishing – skyrocket sales. Much like her star maker book club, the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN) will launch a documentary film club featuring films that that focuses on inspirational themes. Each month the network will announce a documentary film and then hold nationwide screenings and panel discussions. The OWN network goes on air in January 2011.
We’re thinking “Oprah’s Film Club” has a nice ring to it.
