After 15 years with ABC, Oprah Winfrey has decided not to extend her deal with the network and will team with HBO for a three-year deal to produce movies, documentaries and television series. Although Winfrey would not reveal any details about her future projects, making Harpo Films more cable-friendly will afford her more creative freedom to develop an eclectic mix of commercial-free programming, according to the Associated Press.

“This is really a dream come true for us,” Winfrey says.
