Only Oprah Winfrey could bring two grieving mothers together for a common cause. Both 11-year-old Carl Walker-Hoover and 11-year-old Jaheem Herrera committed suicide last month after months of being bullied in school and taunted with “acting gay” by other students. Yesterday, Carl’s mother, Sirdeaner, and Jaheem’s mother, Masika, appeared together on “The Oprah Winfrey Show” to talk about what happened to their sons and to help other parents to address bullying before it goes too far.
“Today begins a national conversation on bullying,” said Oprah.—WLW
