In vitro pregnancies are harder for Black women, study shows

A new U.S. study indicates that African-American women have a harder time getting pregnant through in vitro fertilization (IVF) and are more likely to miscarry than White women who are having the same procedure, reports Reuters. The study is based on more than 70,000 IVF treatment cycles. The racial disparity is suggested to be based on Black women’s pelvic structures and the notion that we tend to be older when seeking IVF treatment.
