Last week, Porter’s case was declared a mistrial after a jury failed to reach a verdict regarding the role he played in Gray’s death.

Five other officers face charges and will be tried individually on various charges within the next three months.

During his testimony, Porter remained adamant that he acted reasonably as his position required and expressed extreme remorse for Gray’s death.

Porter faced charges of involuntary manslaughter, second-degree assault, reckless endangerment and misconduct in office.
