Oscar winner Octavia Spencer will make her TV series debut in the Steven Spielberg-produced FOX drama Red Band Society.
The Hollywood Reporter describes Spencer’s character, Nurse Jackson, as “an authoritative, intuitive woman who doesn’t put up with crap” from the teenagers living at the hospital she works in.
This comes months after Spencer’s other pilot on NBC, a reboot of the classic Murder, She Wrote, was canceled.
Spielberg is directing Halle Berry in sci-fi drama, Extant, debuting July 9 on CBS.
