Senator Barack Obama is rolling out his plan to help ease health-care costs, particularly in the Black community, reports the St. Louis American. The Democratic presidential candidate recently said, “The African-American community continues to have poorer health and receives lower quality health care than other Americans.” To end this, he mentioned that if a person already has health care, then the premiums would be lowered by $2,500 annually by investing in electronic health records and chronic-care management prevention. The plan also states that those without current medical coverage will be able to buy into a plan akin to that offered to members of Congress. If it is unaffordable, then the government will aid citizens.
“Nobody in America should be wanting for health care if they are willing to go through these programs,” Obama said.
