It’s a good day for Nina Simone fans. ESSENCE Music Festival Headliner Mary J. Blige will star in the highly-anticipated biopic, “Nina,” and the late jazz singer’s daughter recently launched a new website in her honor.
The biopic will primarily focus on Simone’s relationship with her assistant Clifton Henderson, who will be played by David Oyelowo, backers said. Blige said she’s definitley on-board for the film and that she’s currently taking acting classes for her new role, US Weekly.com reports.
And for those of us who can’t wait for the new biopic release, Ninasimone.com should do the trick. Simone, the legendary jazz singer’s daughter, has redesigned the site with unreleased tracks, video performances and a 24-7 “Nina Simone Radio” featuring commentaries and interviews on the talented artist.
