Nicki Minaj may not testify at her brother’s rape trial after all.
Jelani Maraj, the pop star’s older brother, is accused of raping a then ll-year-old girl in 2015.
On Monday, jurors heard disturbing testimony from the girl’s 10-year-old brother, who was 8 at the time, that revealed details of the alleged rape. Prosecutors allege that Maraj would have sex with the girl as often as four times a week.
It was reported that Minaj would testify that the victim’s mother attempted to extort her for millions. However, a source close to the singer told TMZ that Minaj would not be involved in her brother’s case.
The source claims Minaj never planned to take the stand and that her brother’s legal team stating otherwise was simply false.
Still, Maraj’s attorney might be holding out hope that the rapper takes the stand, telling TMZ, “I have no idea, we’ll see.”
