Nicki Minaj is famous for her hit songs, outrageous hair and colorful costumes, but now the star can also add “Principal for the Day” to her claims to fame.
Minaj paid a surprise visit to Collins Academy High School in Chicago yesterday and had some of the students acting naughty on purpose — just to get sent to the Principal’s office.
The school’s 400 students were totally shocked by Minaj’s visit. During her time as Principal, Minaj helped lead an English class, posed for photos and signed autographs for her young fans. Perhaps the most profound part of her trip was when the hip-hop star presented three lucky students with $10,000 college scholarships.
Collins High School was rewarded with Minaj’s visit as a result of their participation in the “Get MotivatED Challenge,” a competition to improve high school attendance. The school saw a 7% increase in attendance since accepting the challenge.
