Since Bobbi Kristina was found, he has been grappling with a very public struggle to retain visitation rights with his girlfriend, who remains in a coma in an Atlanta hospital. Police have also reportedly opened a criminal investigation in the Bobbi Kristina case and have focused their attention on Gordon.
“Nicholas is at breaking point,” his mother said to Dr. Phil. “As we sit here right now, my son’s life hangs in the balance.”

Gordon was taken in by Houston almost 15 years ago after his birth mother was unable to care for him. After Houston’s death, Gordon was overcome with grief.
“When Whitney was found, he administered CPR to her and called me as he was standing in front of her saying, ‘Mom, why couldn’t I do it? I couldn’t get air into her lungs,'” his mom recounted. “He won’t let go of the guilt.”
