Nicholas Caldwell, one of the founding members of the legendary R&B group, The Whispers, has passed away.
The Associated Press reports that Caldwell died from congestive heart failure at his California home on Tuesday.
Caldwell co-founded The Whispers with twin brothers Walter and Wallace Scott, Gordy Harmon, and Marcus Hutson in 1963. The group had an impressive discography that included R&B classics like “And the Beat Goes On,” “Rock Steady,” “Keep On Lovin’ Me” and “Seems Like I’m Doing Wrong.” Caldwell is credited with penning many of the group’s songs, including hits like the 1979 song, “Lady.”
The group had continued performing up until as recently as this past weekend, reports Entertainment Weekly.
