The judge accused of bias in Meek Mill’s case has denied the rapper’s request for release. After denying the rapper’s release, Judge Genece Brinkley claimed that sentencing Mill to two to four years in prison was “not manifestly excessive.” The rapper’s team has filed a petition to have Brinkley removed from the case in March. Grindr is assuring users that it will no longer share their HIV status with third parties after a report revealed that the dating app has shared statuses with two other companies. HIV information was sent, along with users’ GPS data, phone ID, and email. Despite the app’s assurance, questions have been raised about Grindr’s privacy policy. (BuzzFeed News)
A Florida teacher has resigned after it was revealed that she hosted a racist podcast. Dayanna Volitich was temporarily removed from Crystal River Middle School before resigning after her podcast, Unapologetic was discovered. During one segment Volitich agreed with a guest who criticized that a kid from Nigeria and a kid from Sweden learn the same. Volitich also argued that science proves some races are smarter than others. (WTSP)
Trump’s EPA is rolling back emission standards for automakers. Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Scott Pruitt announced that he would revoke Obama-era standards that required light trucks and cars sold in the US to average more than 50 miles per gallon. This comes after Trump told autoworkers last year that he would look to roll back emissions rules. (Washington Post)
Men freed from prison who claim they were framed have filed lawsuits against Chicago detectives. Gabriel Solachehas, Roberto Almodovar Jr., and Jose Juan Maysonet Jr. have filed lawsuits against retired detective Reynaldo Guevara and other officers after claimed they were framed in murder cases. The men claim Guevara coerced and officials have determined that a number of Guevara’s cases may have been tainted. (Chicago Sun-Times)

New York has finally passed a law to stop domestic abusers from attaining guns. The law requires that those convicted of domestic abuse will lose their gun licenses and must turn over their firearms. Ten different crimes fall under the new law, which covers gaps in federal laws that ban domestic abusers from purchasing guns. (Times Union)
