We know celebs love to sit courtside but Jay-Z may have gotten a little too comfortable at a recent Kentucky Wildcats game. The hip-hop royal, who is minority owner of the New Jersey Nets, just got his team a $50,000 penalty for visiting the Kentucky Wildcat players after a March Madness game.

The rapper’s congratulatory pow-wow violated NBA rules that prohibit contact with players who still have collegiate basketball eligibility. The NBA’s investigation, first reported by CBSSports.com, was sparked by a video showing Jay-Z visiting with various Kentucky players in their locker room at Prudential Center in Newark, N.J., after the Wildcats’ quarterfinal victory over North Carolina.

Although his visit seemed harmless, with Kentucky players clearly excited to take pictures with a world-renown rapper, Nets officials still received a fine for Jigga man’s “excessive contact with college players, ESPN.com reports.
