Reverend Shannon Wright is seeking a different kind of calling these days. The 42-year-old minister from Plainfield, New Jersey announced her bid to become the states’ first African-American governor, according to the Associated Press. Rev. Wright was most recently the campaign manager for Franklin Township Mayor Brian Levine who is a Republican. However, she intends to run as an Independent (even though she was a registered Democrat up to last year.)
Wright is determined to bring more attention to Healthcare, Education and Economic Development in her home state.”Times are hard. People are losing their jobs, people are losing their homes, and people are losing their faith,” says Wright. “Good government listens to the heart of the people and works for the common good. We have a lot of issues to fix but together we can put the bloom back in the Garden State.” Wright is the co-founder of Faith, Grace and Mercy World Outreach Ministries with her husband-WLW
