Newlyweds Neosha and Jason Lawrence celebrate their love with a Florida beach wedding. “Picture-perfect,” said Neosha of the ceremony.
“Jason knows that singing and traveling is what I do for a living,” explained Neosha who is currently touring with her three sisters to promote their sophomore album, The Truth, which dropped on May 13. “He completely understands that I’ll be gone a lot for work but I usually fly him to where I am or I’ll fly home most of the time.”
“I had six bridesmaids and asked my cousin Yashmina Hunter, who grew up with me and my sisters in the same household, if she would be my Maid of Honor.”

“I had so much support because all of Jason’s groomsmen and their fiancées helped me so much. It was hectic because I had to get my dress steamed and I cried because I hated my hair, but I finally got it right. And my makeup artist Brandon Zimoyier was wonderful.”

Neosha describes her beach wedding as “pure paradise with my love.”
“When I saw her walk down the aisle, it hit me that we were getting married,” said the groom, a design engineer. “We’d been in love for so long and on one accord that it always felt like we were married. She was so beautiful, it simply reaffirmed that she was The One for me.”
“This is history right here—three generations,” King says. “Grandma and grandpa, love you!”
Neosha’s stylist Ellie Mae sewed her grandmother’s gold-toned, antique custom jewelry (something old, of course!)on Neosha’s white halter-top dress to create a unique embroidery.
“All I gotta say is bling-bling,” said King.
After a five-year courtship, Lawrence popped the question in an unlikely but practical setting. “We’d always had conversations about marriage but one day he took me to the diamond store and told me to choose a ring. I was confused because I already had a promise ring, but he pressed me to choose a ring. I chose a beautiful two-karat, princess cut and then he proposed to me right there in the store!”
After the ceremony, Neosha and Jason take their first stroll as husband and wife.
Neosha and Jason postponed their honeymoon until June around Jason’s 25th birthday on June 13. “We’re thinking about Jamaica or Barbados. I’ve traveled to a lot of places but never to Jamaica.”
Neosha and Jason can’t wait to begin their lives together but first they celebrate with family and friends on a boat reception aboard the Indian River Queen. “I’m so excited that we’re cruising on a boat! This is just icing on the cake.”
Six years ago, Neosha knew she’d found The One. “Jason and I both had come out of bad relationships,” explained Neosha, “and met when he visited his childhood friend, who was also my sister Farrah’s then-boyfriend. From the beginning, there was something special between us but we took our relationship slow.”
Neosha’s pastor Darryl Brian Williams of Abundant Life Ministries in Atlanta presided over the ceremony.
Although most might argue that the newlyweds are too young to be hitched the new Mrs. Lawrence doesn’t agree. “I really think it’s all about maturity. Jason and I have been together since we were teenagers. My sisters and I have been singing all our lives so we’ve done the clubs, but it’s not something I do everyday. It’s always been about business for me, so I don’t feel like I’m missing out on partying because I’ve traveled and done a lot.”
“If the wedding is this perfect,” Neosha exclaimed, “then I can’t wait until after the wedding.”
“Jason’s a design engineer and plans to build homes,” said Neosha. “I’m glad because I couldn’t marry someone in this business. The scheduling would be crazy. At least, he can do his work remotely and occasionally travel for work to see a location.”
