More faces of color are coming to network TV!

Perhaps taking a cue from BET’s upcoming The Book of Negroes, NBC has announced plans to proceed with a new miniseries, tentatively titled “Freedom Run,” Deadline reports.

The series would follow three enslaved couples and their escape along the underground railroad.

No premiere date has been set, but Bob Greenblatt, supervisor of NBCUniversal’s theater division, has announced that he would like to see the miniseries eventually evolve into a Broadway play, with songs written by—who else?—Stevie Wonder.
