Nearly fourteen years after their chart topping hit, “The Boy Is Mine,” Monica and Brandy are back at it.
Watch this behind-the-scenes footage of Brandy and Monica recording their new song “It All Belongs to Me.” When asked why they chose to record a song so different from “The Boy Is Mine,” Brandy said, “We can’t do what we did before. We can’t sing about a boy being mine or hers.”
Monica chimed in, “It’s a girl power record. [It’s] where the female owns it all… It’s kind of funny, but it also speaks volumes to independent women.”
The song will appear on Monica’s upcoming album and Brandy’s untitled album (out this Spring).
