
As families on the Eastern Seaboard continue putting pieces of their lives back together after Hurricane Sandy, Mary J. Blige is using her talents to help support relief efforts.
The Queen of Hip Hop Soul participated in the Hurricane Sandy: Coming Together telethon which raised a whopping $23 million during Friday’s telecast, reports NBC and the American Red Cross.
“My prayers go out to everyone affected by the hurricane. Things are going to get better, so please, just hang in there, be strong and have faith,” Blige said prior to performning her single “The Living Proof.”
Christina Aguilera and Whoopi Goldberg were among several other celebs featured during the NBC-produced telethon.
