Mary J. Blige says it was absolutely necessary for her fans to get an inside look into the making of her latest project through The London Sessions Documentary.
The Queen of Hip Hop & Soul spoke to People.com about the documentary, set to debut at the Tribeca Film festival next month, and what it was like to open up and share her creative process.
“I was nervous about everything but I knew I had to let the cameras in to get all this because I needed my fans to understand why I did it. Why I went overseas, why cameras are following me around, why I named the album The London Sessions, why was I living there for a month. I needed them to understand the whole thing.”
Mary also talks her new video for “Doubt,” what signature London dish she couldn’t get enough of and how she feels about the Royal family. Check out the video above.
