Odetta Gordon, known simply as Odetta, passed away on Tuesday at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City, reports The New York Times. The 77-year-old folk singer who sang at the March on Washington and inspired everyone from Rosa Parks to Bruce Springsteen died of heart disease. She was hoping to sing at the President-elect’s inauguration.
