As Told to Cynthia Caban
This full-figured beauty enjoys pushing the boundaries of the traditional model body type. “I’m glad that models with curves are gaining exposure,” says Anansa.
Not one for drama, Anansa enjoys the creativity and fun of modeling and takes her job very seriously. She credits her mom’s example as the reason she avoids cat fights on the catwalk.
Get ready to see Anansa in a store near you! Her pretty face will be featured in Ashley Stewart’s new ad campaign. The top model is a fan of Stewart’s collection because it appeals to women who love fashion, but are not a size 2.
More than just a pretty face, Anansa earned her MBA and worked briefly in the financial sector.
Anansa loves getting glam backstage and trading beauty secrets with the hair and beauty team. When she’s on set she has a talent for connecting with the camera.
Rocking her shapely body, Anansa is pictured here in an ad for Curvation, a lingerie line for full-figured women.
Someday Anansa wants a family, but for right now she is content with focusing on her career. “Enjoy life because it’s too short not to," she says.
Anansa and her supermodel mother Beverly Johnson are featured on the cover of ESSENCE circa 1991.
With a bright future ahead, Anansa plans to launch a fashion and accessory line and to continue to seek new challenges. “I want to break barriers for full-figured women of color.”
